Protim is partner of the project "Brown Sugar" (Biosynthesis of cell wall polysaccharides from brown algae: screening glycosyl transferase activities) funded by ANR.

Brown Sugar

This project is coordinated by Cécile Hervé (Station Biologique de Roscoff) and involves 4 partners: the Marine Glycobiology team of the SBR; the Protim proteomics platform in Rennes; the Glycogenomics team of the Architecture and Function of Biological Macromolecules Laboratory in Marseille; and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie in Rennes. Its objective is to understand the glycosyltransferases of brown algae from the identification of their genes to their purification, the characterization of their protein expression and their biochemical activity.
